Marek Číhal: Audience by the Pope Innocent X.

25. 6. – 12. 9. 2015

Benedictus, qui venit in nomine Domini – Blessed is he who cometh in the name of the Lord.
Marek Číhal’s work comes from an extraordinary spontaneity. It connects an intellectual power with a unique phantasy, borne out of every possible convention. His paintings are inspired maximally by his own temper; nevertheless, they present a confrontation to reality. Usual motifs for these paintings feature animals, such as elephants or penguins, taking on a human appearance, or vice versa: motifs with humans taking on an animal appearance.
